Salsa Spanish offers free Spanish lessons for younger kids in Kindergarten and lower elementary. Each lesson contains a video of puppets and costumed characters. You, the teacher, do not need to know any Spanish to teach these lessons! A full teacher’s guide for each episode is available, free. The lesson plans include scheduling suggestions and black line masters (drawings), correlating to each video episode.

Salsa is a comprehensive Spanish program for young children featuring puppets, state-of-the-art graphics, animation and a good dose of humor.
Instructors do not need to be certified to teach a foreign language or be familiar with Spanish.
Each video lesson is preceded by a staff development component that familiarizes the instructor with the content and objectives of the lesson, reviews all vocabulary words, and demonstrates the correct pronunciation of all Spanish words used in the lesson. There are 42 video lessons in the Salsa series.

Download Teacher’s Guides for each episode. Scroll down to K-2 Foreign Language Instruction and choose Salsa Materials. You’ll see a drop-down menu with episode titles. Click on a name to open a .pdf (over 70 pages!) with lesson plans for that episode.
