20 Jul

I know quite a few of you are thinking about “back to school” already. I never am in July, but today I went to the mega-store, thought I’d pick up a pen for my journal, and the aisles were crowded with back-to-school shoppers. So I know a lot of you are planning for the upcoming schoolyear.

In the past, more than once, I shared our family’s favorite Charlotte Mason curriculum (Ambleside Online, a perennial favorite of so many of us in the past decade+). Today, I discovered (for myself, you may have already known) another Charlotte Mason-inspired curriculum for the little guys, in Kindergarten through Grade 5.

a little bit about this free charlotte mason curriculum

Under the Home was created and designed by a homeschooling mom, who in the About page, says she’s teaching her children right alongside us. Under the Home is 100% free, which even includes ad-free, which keeps the site child-friendly. As always, look through the site before letting your child loose on it, to be sure it aligns with what you want your child to learn (only you can know what works for him or her).

The curriculum is divided into topics. Here is a screenshot of Grade 5:

where to start: look through the curriculum overview

There is an excellent curriculum overview for Under the Home that I highly recommend you look through. It shows how the curriculum is designed to work, how to use it, and what is included in it.

Visit Under the Home to see their free K-5 Charlotte Mason-inspired curriculum.

Freely Educate is written for those, like our family, who don't want the box. There are many places for "box-thinkers" to go. This place is for those who think outside the box. I hope to give you affirmation and advice on bravely choosing to educate creatively and individually. - Lori Seaborg
