Teaching a little preschooler this year?  If so, reading and writing are your primary subjects and I have two free full curriculum choices for you.  Our readers have given us excellent feedback on both of these free preschool curriculum choices:

two free preschool curriculum choices

Starfall:  Starting with the alphabet, Starfall will teach your preschool through Kindergarten student to read.  This is the most popular program we’ve highlighted for preschoolers.  Click on the screenshot below to visit Starfall, or go here to read my review of the site. Your little one can be set loose on this site, for free learning.

Letter of the Week:  This 38-lesson curriculum is especially for ages 2-5.  Focusing on one sound each week, a child learns slowly but retains the knowledge.  Click on the screenshot below to visit Letter of the Week, or go here to read my review of the site. You’ll be the one on this site, collecting book lists and information for teaching.

After preschool, you’ll want curriculum for K-12

Here is a collection of free homeschool curriculum that I’ve reviewed and highlighted.

super overwhelmed and pretty much freaking out about teaching a preschooler?

Don’t be. You’re enough, you’re the perfect teacher for this child, and even if you do nothing but keep the screens off, you’ll have done a good job. I’ve made it through four preschoolers, and wrote my tips in an article for ya. You’ll be fine, and it will be fun.

I plan on combining a couple curriculums – the Letter of the Week (actually the prep version), and ABC Jesus Loves Me. I ended up changing the themes and content, and worked it into a 3-day-a-week program, but the basic concepts are there. And of course, I can switch things around as I go!

My almost three yr. old and I are just finishing up LOTW’s prepatory curriculum. We supplemented with No Time For Flashcards and the free parts of abcmouse.com. Such great resources!

Balancing Homeschooling while Working From Home

At times, well-intentioned advice suggests that dedicating an entire day to homeschooling leaves no room for a job during regular hours. This is not necessarily so. My husband and I owned a garden center for a few years while also homeschooling. After that, I had an online business while homeschooling. We did not “only work … Read More about Balancing Homeschooling and Working From Home – a Realistic Approach

making the transition from public school to homeschool

We did what you’re doing, or thinking about doing. Our eldest two went to public school in our little town, and it was just fine, we didn’t have any problems, but I missed them. Also, it was a hassle packing up the baby and toddler to commute the school kids from two different school locations, … Read More about Going from Public School to Home School? Here’s My Advice
