Our eldest, a college student, found a freebie for us yesterday while writing a paper on Aesop. The Library of Congress took the words and illustrations of Aesop for Children, illustrated in 1919 by Milo Winter, and created a beautiful interactive book of Aesop Fables for Kids to encourage today’s digital generation to enjoy Aesop’s writings.
The interactive Aesop for Children may be viewed on a computer, a mobile device, or a tablet. Your child will be able to click on some of the illustrations to see the characters move, or to hear their sounds.
You’ll find Aesop’s Fables suggested in many homeschooling curricula, including book lists for the Charlotte Mason style (our family’s favorite!). The fables contain many moral lessons that have withstood the test of time since the mid-6th century BC when they were collected from oral stories and written down.
