Salsa Spanish offers free Spanish lessons for kids in Kindergarten and lower elementary.  Each lesson contains a video of puppets and costumed characters.  Guess what?  You don’t need to know any Spanish to teach these lessons! Also, a full teacher’s guide for each episode is available, free.   The lesson plans are laid out for you, complete with scheduling suggestions and black line masters (drawings), correlating to each video episode.

Denise, who shared these free Spanish lessons with us, wrote,

“I have tried many, many Spanish programs for my children only to be continually disappointed and discouraged, however, this one, by far has totally exceeded all of my expectations. The children, (and I), are learning Spanish and are using it in our everyday lives. Salsa is really fun and extremely rewarding.”

Here’s an explanation of Salsa Spanish from the Producers:

Salsa is a comprehensive Spanish program for young children featuring puppets, state-of-the-art graphics, animation and a good dose of humor.

Instructors do not need to be certified to teach a foreign language or be familiar with Spanish.

Each video lesson is preceded by a staff development component that familiarizes the instructor with the content and objectives of the lesson, reviews all vocabulary words, and demonstrates the correct pronunciation of all Spanish words used in the lesson. There are 42 video lessons in the Salsa series.
