Free STEM Activities through Interactive, Digital Textbooks

The non-profit CK-12 Foundation offers free STEM activities through digital textbooks  in science, technology, engineering, and mathematics subjects (STEM!). CK-12  aligns with state standards.  These digital textbooks are available for download on your computer, iPad, Kindle, or other compatible e-reader.

They also offer interactive learning – for example, you may create your own classroom or group, and assign your students lessons in math and science subjects.free STEM activities

Here’s a video explaining the CK-12 Study Guides better than I can:

Get the free STEM activities :

Visit CK-12 to browse the site to see if it’s a good fit for your homeschooling family (that is, to see if the standards align with you!).
Create a classroom to see how that area works.
Take a quiz (oh, my goodness, I did poorly on the algebra quiz I took!).
Visit their help page for homeschooling teachers, for more information.
How to Get the Textbooks on  Your e-Reader:

All of the CK-12 are Kindle- or eReader- ready and available for immediate download at the Kindle store, here.  Most of them are free!

These look fantastic! However, although it is labeled CK-12 (which I took to mean it goes from K – 12) I don’t see any books for grades 5 and below. I’ll be doing 6th next year, though, and I saw 2 or 3 that I’m very interested in….
    Thanks for this find!

I love finding freebies for my high schooler. The topics were well covered and pretty straight forward.

Loved the books. My kids are a little young, though. I wish they would come out with introductory level on these topics. My kids are all highly gifted and well beyond their grade level in math and science, but still early elementary. Maybe they will expand.

Thanks so much! I had stumbled on the free downloads from Amazon, but knew nothing about them. Looking forward to exploring what might work for my kiddos!
