Free Typing ProgramIf you’re tired of the fun but loud Dance Mat Typing, or if you would like a free typing program with free typing tests, fewer graphics and more explanation  for your older students, I found a freebie for you at Peter’s Online Typing Course.

Peter’s free Online Typing Course takes you through learning “touch typing” (that’s what typing without looking at the keys is called) through a series of lessons and typing tests.

I took the left-hand numbers lesson tonight while reviewing the site for you, as that’s my slow area, and in only a few minutes of typing and testing (you type what it says to type  while the site times you), I improved quickly.

There aren’t any flashy games, loud audio or interactive tests at Peter’s free Online Typing Course, but sometimes you just want to learn, not be entertained.

For younger students, try this fun and loud elementary typing course .

Thank you for featuring this one I can’t stand all the noisy ones. My kids will actually make a mistake just to see the program do its crazy mistake song or dance. Drives me nuts plus I don’t think they are learning anything at all. Going to give this one a try on Monday:)

Those make me a little nuts, too. You're welcome!

Thank you! My 7 year old is loving this. He hated the noisy one.

Thank you. I have indeed been looking for something else to move onto for my older kids. Perfect timing 🙂

Freely Educate is written for those, like our family, who don't want the box. There are many places for "box-thinkers" to go. This place is for those who think outside the box. I hope to give you affirmation and advice on bravely choosing to educate creatively and individually. - Lori Seaborg
