Free Audiobooks for Children

Years ago, a reader shared her favorite source for children’s audiobooks: StoryNory. It is still a favorite of those with small children. The books are selected primarily for toddler to elementary ages, and are easy to access.  You may  choose to listen to the children’s stories online, or download them.

There are over 100 tales, so I’m sure you’ll find several you enjoy. The site is divided into five types of stories:
  • Educational:  examples include the history of soccer and several Greek myths
  • Original Stories : by StoryNory
  • Fairytales : by authors such as Brothers Grimm, Hans Christian Anderson, Charles Perrault
  • Classic Authors : by authors such as Rudyard Kipling, Charles Dickens, Lewis Carroll
  • Junior:  stories for little ones, inlcuding stories such as The Three Little Pigs and The Little Red Riding Hood

Use the links above, or go directly to StoryNory.

Perfect timing Lori! I just downloaded these for E’s long flight this week. She can’t wait to listen. While looking at these I came across CandlelightStories.com which offer some free podcasts too (really nice music). Thanks again for posting this-E’s says “thanks” too!

My kids LOVE storynory. It makes the many car rides go much faster and a lot more peaceful. The books are really easy to download.
