Free 3-D Interactive Model of the Human Body

I was a nursing student in the 90’s and had to pour over a 50 lb. (so it felt) Anatomy & Physiology textbook in order to study the human body.  A few years later (or so), BioDigital has created an interactive 3-D model of the human body.  The technology of a program like this is so amazing to me – I could pour over it for hours upon hours and without lifting a pound!

There are a few ways to use the BioDigital Human:

  • on your iPhone or iPad (look for BioDigital Human in the app store)
  • as a Chrome app (BioDigital
  • on the BioDigital website

The free version, which is all I’ve used, includes interactive 3D anatomy and interactive 3D conditions and treatments and three quizzes per day.  The premium version, their site says, includes more anatomy, more conditions and treatments, and the ability to interact with other learners.

Here is a short video explaining all Human has to offer:

Freely Educate is written for those, like our family, who don't want the box. There are many places for "box-thinkers" to go. This place is for those who think outside the box. I hope to give you affirmation and advice on bravely choosing to educate creatively and individually. - Lori Seaborg
