Announcing All About Learning

For several years, All About Spelling has been our family’s – and our readers’ – favorite spelling program. The thing that sets the All About Learning programs (both reading and spelling) apart is how hands-on the programs are. This is our Kindergartner, using All About Spelling:

The All About Spelling program is logical and organized enough for even me to figure out and use easily with our children at four different levels.  The system uses letter tiles (pictured above) and flashcards to teach spelling.

Our family receives all sorts of educational products to possibly review for Freely Educate, and while we only post reviews of products that we think are good, we don’t always keep the products to use in our own little school. All About Spelling, however, definitely will be staying at home in our schoolroom.  It is solving our problem of poor spellers (they are so very phonetic!) while keeping the effort as painless as possible for the teacher (me).

This week, All About Learning announced the release of Level 4 of their All About Reading program.

If you’ve been searching for a reading curriculum for your child, or a spelling curriculum for your tactile, wiggly little one (like mine!), check out All About Learning Press.

p.s. There is a free placement test and three free activity books on the All About Reading Level 4 page!

Balancing Homeschooling while Working From Home

At times, well-intentioned advice suggests that dedicating an entire day to homeschooling leaves no room for a job during regular hours. This is not necessarily so. My husband and I owned a garden center for a few years while also homeschooling. After that, I had an online business while homeschooling. We did not “only work … Read More about Balancing Homeschooling and Working From Home – a Realistic Approach

making the transition from public school to homeschool

We did what you’re doing, or thinking about doing. Our eldest two went to public school in our little town, and it was just fine, we didn’t have any problems, but I missed them. Also, it was a hassle packing up the baby and toddler to commute the school kids from two different school locations, … Read More about Going from Public School to Home School? Here’s My Advice
