Free Spelling Curriculum for Elementary Grades

by grade· elementary· spelling· subjects

30 Apr

A homeschooling mom created her own spelling program for her elementary homeschool students after she couldn’t find a program that taught spelling in the way she preferred.  The curriculum is called Spell by Color, and Year One is free.

Spellingsample
This, from what I’ve read, is a good alternative to the popular All About Spelling.  If you don’t have the extra pocket change to buy a spelling curriculum, take a look at this free spelling program especially designed for homeschooling students (the author also mentions the curriculum works well with homeschool co-ops and schools).

Thank you so much Lori for sharing all these resources. I know it’s very time consuming to have a site like this and really appreciate all your hard work. What a blessing!
I tried the link for this post and it connects to the home page, but not to the actual spelling page. I will be emailing the owner of the site to share what I found also.
    Have a blessed day!

Thanks for writing, Tricia!  The links above should point to this page:  http://jettedgames.com/spelling.htm . Scroll down  that page for the links you may need for specific areas of the spelling curriculum.

Thank you so much for letting us know about this free spelling program. My children are a little older, but now and then I notice a “hole” in their spelling so to be able to print off a lesson regarding just that is so appreciated.

Thanks for letting us know about this resource! I’ve been praying about a spelling program and have been frustrated b/c we cannot afford “All About Spelling”. Thank you!!
