I would love to win this! My sisters and I homeschool our 7 kids and are planning on a convention trip sometime this summer. Free would be great!
I also just went and visited their page. Didn’t see how to leave them a comment though.
I’d love to win too! This is my 5th year homeschooling and I’ve never been to a convention either. Usually we’re in the middle of a move or too far away – miltiary family! I’d like to learn about educating middle schoolers!
I’ve been to a smaller, more local homeschool convention, but never to a really big one; would love the opportunity!!
This would be incredible!!
I’ve never been to a homeschool convention. In fact, I’m just beginning to homeschool my 5 year old this fall. I’d like to attend a convention to get started on the right foot.
This would be a tremendous gift – A great opportunity to meet with like-minded people and see curriculum first-hand.
I signed up for the Cincinnati convention newsletter
I’ve only visited the exhibitor hall for one convention. It was years ago, before we started homeschooling, and I was overwhelmed with the choices. It’s funny – something that caught my eye then, we’re now using as our main curriculum – 8 years later! I’d love to go and take some workshops!
I visited their Facebook page.
I have only been homeschooling for a year now. I would love to go to a convention! :-). Thank you for all that you do. You have been a huge part of how I’m doing this.
So excited! Just got dh to agree to the convention last night. Once I saw Dr. Susan Wise Bauer was going to be speaking, I knew I HAD to go! Would love to win tickets – that would make things even better. Thanks for the chance!
I just signed up for the newsletter for 2 conventions.
Already signed up for their newsletter.
I just went to the Facebook page to check it out. Still reading it, but didn’t want to forget to tell you. 🙂
I visited their Facebook page and laughing at their “ninja look up” comment!
I am now following them on Twitter. Thanks for the chances to win. 🙂
I’ve been to the convention in Ohio. It was awesome but a little overwhelming. My advice to newbie’s is take a notebook and wear a good pair of walking shoes. I would also recommend going for more than one day. I was only able to spend a day there and it was not enough time. I would love to be able to go again, it is such an encouragement to be around other homeschoolers!
I like their facebook page!
I just signed up for the newsletter for the convention in Ohio!
I have been homeschooling for nine years, but I’ve never been to a convention. I’d love to win a pass to this one and see what I’ve been missing.
I visited the convention facebook page.
I can assume the conventions are super helpful for homeschool families. We would love to attend one and see what new things we could learn. We’re always looking for different ways to educate our 6 kids.
I’ve always wanted to go to a convention, but haven’t been able to swing it financially. We’re on our third year, considering returning to private school. I’d love to visit a convention to become re-energized and re-motivated. Homeschooling is definitely a fulltime lifestyle and I look at conventions as necessary continuing education!
I would love to attend a Homeschool Conference. I have never been to one before. It would be a great experience for My family.
Thanks so much!

This would be great! Thank you for offering it!
This would be great! Thank you for offering it!
Sorry, the above post didn’t show the first time!
I would love the experience and at this time free would be the only way I could afford it. I homeschool my grandchildren.
Homeschool conventions are soooo inspiring! My advice is to make sure hubby goes with you – he needs encouragement and inspiriation for the journey too.
I’ve also never been to a convention! This would be wonderful!
I also checked out the Facebook page.
I’ve never been either! Free would be great.
I have never been to a homeschool convention and would love to go to one and I would love to meet Mike Huckabee.
I also like them on facebook.
I also signed up for their newsletter.
We’ve been homeschooling for 7 years, and my oldest made the leap into homeschooling high school this year. I’ve never had the opportunity to attend a homeschool convention, so it would be awesome to win. I find, now more than ever, a need to see curriculum before I invest. I’d love to have the chance to attend the seminars and meet those who inspired me to take this journey in the first place, especially Susan Wise Bauer.
I have been to the Convention in Cincinnati in 2008. Was a little overwhelmed by the number of vendors and the number of seminars available.
This is our 5th year of homeschooling and we have never been able to afford to go to a homeschooling convention. We live on my husbands disability SS. I don’t have an income. We make just enough to pay bills and thats it. Any extra a dollar at a time, goes to summer camp and buying used curriculum piece by piece off of ebay. (No way could I afford anything new. I will have a Jr. High student and a High School student next year. I am not sure what I would really like as far as workshops go. I guess my main concern at this point is making sure I raise my children in the love of Christ and making sure I have everything I need for the upcoming preparations for college. Memphis would be where we would like to go if by some miraclulous chance we were to win. 🙂
I have only been to one in Indianapolis about 5 years ago. It can certainly be overwhelming, but it is so nice to get to speak with the curriculum reps and to hear the different speakers. The one bit of advice I can think of would be to wear comfortable shoes, and carry a BIG tote bag! 🙂

I have visited their FB page too!
Hi. I would really love to win!! Money is very tight for my family this year (as I stopped working so I could homeschool my youngest two children) and I woukd really love to hear encouaging messages from speakers.
This would be the most incredible gift to win!! This is my 4th year homeschooling and I feel there is always more to learn even as an educator.
I visited and “liked” the facebook page.

I’ve never been to a homeschool convention before…looks like it would be fun!
I have never been to the convention – not yet anyway! I have one in Kindergarten now and another starting Kindergarten next year. (and I younger one too!) I would LOVE to go and see curriculum in ‘real life’ before I buy! I would also like to make some of my purchases there to save on shipping! It would also be the only way to get my husband to look at stuff with me!! I really want to win!!!!
julia
I just ‘liked’ the convention page on facebook.
I have been to the local convention twice. My biggest recommendation is, don’t go alone. I love to go with my hubby, but if he couldn’t go to a convention with me I would go with a homeschooling friend. It is great to have someone to bounce ideas off of, enjoy meals with and just enjoy each others company while exploring the convention. Bonus: if you take your hubby, he can lug around everything you buy 🙂
I have never been to a homeschool convention but I have been to a curriculum fair so I’m not sure how they are different besides the “celebrity status” of the speakers. I would love to go for free!
I have never been to one of these. I just order online by reviews. I would love to win this so I can actually see the curriculum I am purchasing.
I signed up for the newsletter, wrote a comment on theier facebook page, and I am following them on twitter.
I would love to win this. I never been to one. I am also a single mom. This would help me out so much.
This is great! I’d love for my whole family to get to go to one of these. 🙂
I’ve never been in person, but have attended a couple of online conventions. 🙂
Number 2 – check!
Number 3 – check! And liked them already.
Registering for this convention is on my “To Do” list. I’m considering beginning Classical Conversations next year and learned about the convention from their website. I’d love to go and bring a friend!
I’ve never been and would love to win. I’m sure I have a lot to learn, but mostly I just want to meet in real life other homeschoolers!!
I have been to a homeschool convention, great place to get encouragement in your homeschool journey. It’s great to see curriculum in person.
I signed up for the Great Homeschool Convention newsletter..this looks like an awesome convention!
I would love to win this! I’ve not been to hs conference in years. As we are working our way through our first year of high school, I realize that I need a conference “boost” more than ever.
I signed up for the newsletter! Hoping to make the Greenville, SC conference….
Pick me! Pick me! I home school two and would really appreciate the tickets.
I visited the facebook page!
I signed up for the Cinci newsletter.
Would love to go.

I took my teen daughter to the convention in Cincy last year. We had a blast. What a blessing! I’d love to go again this year, but maybe in Greenville since it is closer and I’d have to spend less for gas and hotel.
I’m pretty sure I already receive the newsletter, but I signed up (just in case).
I already like them on Facebook! :o)

I love homeschool conventions. Such a great opportunity to focus on our homeschool without the interruption of daily life. I am hoping to go to the convention in Cincinnati this Spring.
I already receive the newsletter and have liked their facebook page.
We’re in our 7th year of homeschooling, and I’ve not had the opportunity to attend a convention. It would be great to meet Susan Wise Bauer–her book inspired me to begin the homeschool journey.
I went to my first (and only so far) homeschool convention in 2005, the year I started homeschooling. It was overwhelming, to say the least, with all the booths and all the cool educational stuff. I enjoyed the speakers and learning what to expect and how to prepare for my first year.
I visited and liked the Great Homeschool COnventions Facebook page.

We go to a conference every year. Last year we attended Cincinnati. Best advice would be to have a list of materials that you know you need, with their prices, so that you can comparison shop.
I’m a GHC fan on Facebook.
I receive GHC newsletters.
I have been to a small convention once but would love to go again!
I already get the newsletter for the convention in Connecticut and have the postcard attached to my fridge!
I checked out the FB page for the Great Homeschool Conventions. The “like” button wasn’t working, though. Thanks for the giveaway!
My family and I attend our small local convention each year. I would love the chance to see the abundant choices in curriculum, plus hear from the amazing lineup of speakers. My kids would really enjoy going to the workshops that are designed just for them. Blessings to all!

I’ve been to a conference before. It is very encouraging.

I would love to win these tickets. I have been to homeschool conventions in the past. If you are a newbie, be prepared to feel overwhelmed while shopping in the vendor hall. Make a list of the things you need before you leave home. Check out the curriculum thats being sold in the vendor halls, but only purchase whats on your list. If you see something you are interested in, but wasn’t on your original list, write it down and save it to purchase next year.
I just press the like button on the GHC Facebook page.
I have never attended a homeschool convention, but would love the opportunity.
I have been to several homeschool conventions, but I haven’t been able to attend any of the GHC (yet — would love to though).
Haven’t been but I’d like to!
I signed up for the Cincinnati newsletter! 🙂
I visited their FB page (and “like” them).
I have never been to a homeschool convention. I would LOVE to go to meet other homeschoolers and learn about all the options available.
My advice would be think for a while before buying books and curriculum. Talk to friends or take a few minutes to get online somewhere to check reviews. After listening to great speakers that they always have you need to make sure that you will purchase items that will be effective in your own home school. Not only keep your children’s personalities in mind but also your own personality and teaching style. If you have something that does not work for either parent or child you will have a difficult time being enjoying your home school journey.
I signed up for the South East and the Mid South newsletters….I’m not sure which is closer to where I live.
I liked there facebook page and commented on one of the wonderful quotes.

I’ve attended our state convention every year for 15 years. Last year, I was pretty much done. Our state group has become too narrow. I am THRILLED that GHC is coming to our area and really hope to go. Winning the tickets would be a huge blessing!

Before attending the convention I go through a list of speakers & vendors to focus on. This help (a little) to not being feeling overwhelmed.
This is our first year homeschooling. I have never been to a convention, so the Northeast one sounds like a great experience. Looking for High School material.
Also signed up for newsletter and checked them out on facebook.
Would so love to win this! This is only my second year of homeschooling, would love the opportunity to hear the speakers!

To a newbie, I would say, remember you know your child, your family, your lifestyle, better than anyone else. Keep that in mind when listening to speakers and looking at homeschool products. Try to implement ideas and curriculum that do not come naturally to your family is always counterproductive.
I liked the FB page. 🙂
Just visited the homeschool convention page!
Just shared this on email with a friend.
These are a great way to recharge the homeschoolers batteries. Please pick me!
I was at a homeschool convention years ago and was utterly overwhelmed by the overload of information. I am a bit more seasoned now and have a better idea of not only my own identity and teaching style, but also that of each of my six children and their own learning styles. I would love to go and participate in workshops, as that is one thing I’ve never gotten to try.
I have homeschooled for 15 years but still find it valuable to get inspired and encouraged at the conventions. This will be the first time GHC will be nearby so I am looking forward to attending.
I just signed up for newsletter.
I “liked” them on FB.
Now also following via newsletter and on FB and Twitter!!
I don’t have a blog nor twitter acct. I do direct a Classical Conversations group and made an announcement in our email newsletter this week.

I have never been to one before. I have heard the are great to go to. I would like to go to learn about ways to make our homeschool better.
Would be great! I homeschool my daughter and will homeschool my younger one wgeb she is old enough. Havent been to a convention yet, but would love to go!
My family homeschools our two children on a multi-generational level with my husband teaching our son and my daughter’s teacher is her grandmother!! So a trip to a convention would be wonderful for us all and an experience we have never had 😉
Keep up the wonderful work freely educate, we appreciate it more than you will ever know.

I liked the homeschool fb page and signed up for the newsletter. Thanks
I have never been to a homeschool convention but would like to start this year.
I would love to go to one of these! I used to attend our local convention but just to ship, I have never been able to go to the seminars and hear all the speakers. I would enjoy the opportunity 🙂
I also liked their facebook page, and am following on twitter! Thanks for the opportunity to win!
I would love to go to the convention. I am helping my daughter-in-law teach my grandson.
I would recommend taking a notebook & writing down whatever homeschool materials you like . Get back home 7 go over them online & have time to really see what you NEED. They all look wonderful at the convention.Don’t take a credit or debit card , only as much cash as you know for certain you can spend. people spend hundreds & close to thousands at these conventions. Money is flowing wildly.
Think I missed this one 🙁
Anne (#21), You get to go to your first convention! I’m so excited you won! Thanks for entering. ~ Lori
