Our little gal at the desktop3
To celebrate a summer of fun and many late movie nights, Redbox is asking moms, “Which member of your family is the best at video games? Who’s the worst?” They are rewarding 2 lucky people with a chance to win $10,000 as part of the Redbox Summer of Fun & Games Sweepstakes. I hope you win. I’ll tell you how to enter in a minute, but first, I need to confess something.

We own almost all of the video game systems.

I know. That’s ridiculous. But. We do. Hear out my quick defensive reply: We also love the outdoors and nature studies and go kayaking a ridiculous amount of the time. There. Convinced?

The Loser. And, the Winners.

We are a gamer family. I accept that. I am game. But I’m not the winner. Ever. Our little 8yo girl jumps past me in Kinect Adventures, our 16yo son laughs because I cannot climb even the stairs in Halo, and our ballerina dances me into last place on Zumba. Our 11yo can play Sorry! on the Wii better than me, and even my dear(!) husband thinks it’s funny that his Tiny Wings score triples mine. I keep trying, and I will keep trying, but I’m definitely the losingest video game loser in the family.

It’s your turn to confess: Which member of your family is the best at video games? Who’s the worst?

Redbox is celebrating summer family time with a great line up of family-friendly titles, awesome savings and two chances to win $10,000 as part of the Redbox Summer of Fun & Games .

Balancing Homeschooling while Working From Home

At times, well-intentioned advice suggests that dedicating an entire day to homeschooling leaves no room for a job during regular hours. This is not necessarily so. My husband and I owned a garden center for a few years while also homeschooling. After that, I had an online business while homeschooling. We did not “only work … Read More about Balancing Homeschooling and Working From Home – a Realistic Approach

making the transition from public school to homeschool

We did what you’re doing, or thinking about doing. Our eldest two went to public school in our little town, and it was just fine, we didn’t have any problems, but I missed them. Also, it was a hassle packing up the baby and toddler to commute the school kids from two different school locations, … Read More about Going from Public School to Home School? Here’s My Advice
