Friendly Chemistry has recently edited & updated their curriculum.  To celebrate, they want to send a full curriculum set to one of you!

After looking through a Friendly Chemistry textbook, you’ll soon realize that, hmm, chemistry is a little more interesting than you first thought.  Give it a longer look and you’ll find yourself surprisingly absorbed in elements and molecules.  Then…gather some students,  teach a Friendly Chemistry lesson and you’ll see that chemistry is not only fun, but the kids are asking to have another chemistry class!

Friendlychem

The author, Joey Hajda, describes Friendly Chemistry  like this:

“Friendly Chemistry was written using simple language and a host of analogies to make learning (and teaching!) chemistry easy.  We believe that the chemistry concepts presented in Friendly Chemistry are NOT watered-down.  The concepts are just explained in ways that are readily understood by most learners.  Coupled with these explanations is a host of teaching aids, labs and games which makes the learning concrete and multi-sensory.  Students find the course fun and painless.  Parents often comment, ‘I wish I had had this when I was taking chemistry.   Now it all makes so much sense!'”

Visit the Friendly Chemistry site for answers to questions about teaching the program in your homeschool or co-op or for answers to using the program in private or public schools.

Guess what? The publishers want to offer one of you a free set of Friendly Chemistry curriculum, which includes:

  • Student text
  • Teacher text
  • Manipulative text (a 74 page booklet to be disassembled by the end user)

Current retail cost is $49.99 for the student edition and $24.99 for each volume of the Teacher’s edition (Two volume set).  The manipulative set retails for $9.99.  Total retail value:  $109.96

My daughter loves science but we need to become more organized as we don’t follow a curriculum. These books and the manipulative book sounds like just what we need. We have done quite a few experiments but many don’t work and that is disappointing. Also, some of the labs we have followed called for “common household materials” of which we had few or even none. The lab materials listed for Friendly Chemistry is a better match for us.

It took a very frustrating 2 years for my oldest to finish Chemistry mostly because the teacher’s material didn’t explain things any more than the student text and one cannot teach what they themselves do not know. I must have a better Chemistry curriculum for my other two children. We would love to give Friendly Chemistry a try!

I’d love to win this because my son has a great interest in Chemistry, but I can’t seem to find anything that is written for him to understand (he is an intelligent thirteen year old).

Chemistry has always seemed like a monster in the closet that jumps out, leaving me dazed and confused. Help!!!! I homeschool, I don’t want to pass on my fear of chemistry. For their sakes we should win this amazing set.
