December 16th:
- Boston Tea Party: John Adams wrote of the dumping of the tea into the Boston Harbor: "There is a dignity, a majesty, a sublimity, in this last effort of the patriots that I greatly admire."

- Ludwig Von Beethoven, a famous composer, was born in 1770.
Listen to his music and read more about Beethoven at Classics for Kids (it's a wonderful site for teaching children music appreciation, by the way)
December 17th:
- The Wright Brothers first flew at Kitty Hawk in 1903.
