School express sends out a free mini unit very week.
Also simply homeschooling is doing a free 13 days of Christmas. Sends it out every day from now until the 13th of December. We have been using them everyday.

This is one of my favorites right now. I make math practice worksheets, make my copywork pages; there’s also maps and other goodies.

We’ve been making heavy use of Spelling City and Khan Academy this fall. Spelling City has been a great help in getting our 6th grader up-to-speed on spelling in a way she finds engaging. I especially like having the ability to create our own sentences to show a word in use. I’d imagine the folks at the website think some of our sentences a bit odd, but it’s been great to be able to tailor them to her current interests and reading selections.
Khan has been a great resource to back up our work from the Life of Fred math series. Whenever we need a deeper explanation of a concept, we’ve found a series of videos to help us through. My daughter is thoroughly smitten with the multi-color scratch pad you can use to work out your answer. It helped make her more willing to write out the steps when she is working through a problem.
Thanks for all you do, Lori. Your website has been an incredible resource for our family and friends.

Google books and Anki are my favorite finds. This year for our main curriculum resources we are using vintage textbooks from Google books and a Flashcard program called Anki that has the option of downloading the application as well as on the internet. Our most enjoyable supplemental finds are Brain Pops freebies, Tux Math and Typing, and The Head of the Class mainly focusing on the interactive videos. Our students asked to learn the Dvorak keyboard and are also enjoying powertyping.com.
Thank you for your blog and all the help it has been to us!
    God bless you.

Freely Educate is our most absolute favorite free educational find. Two favorites from your site are JASON.org for science and the history channel – the free America-the Story of Us DVD set. Another good one is kidshealth.org with teacher’s curriculum and printable worksheets for the students.

If you’re looking for math lessons you have to try:
    Khan Academy: http://www.khanacademy.org/
It’s an entire video library on math, from 1+1 to Calculus. 1800+ videos.
He also now has a web application that tests each of the topics and has you progress in an orderly fashion.
All created by one man. It’s pretty amazing. Our 4 girls are using it.

Besides this site, my favorite freebie is http://www.theheadoftheclass.com I know you’ve posted about it, but it’s a free online curriculum for pre-k up to 4th grade (I think). And they will be adding on additional grades to 7th in the spring. We’ve been using it for my 7 year old for about a year now. It’s really a fantastic site and I still can’t believe it’s free!

I’m looking into Free World U. It is an online flash card educational system that I recently found that goes through 12th grade. I wouldn’t use it as our main source, but I’m enjoying it as a supplemental program.

I LOVE CurrClick.com and Starfall.com! And of course, Freely Educate 😉
I also let my 5 year old online for Peep and The Big Wide World: http://www.peepandthebigwideworld.com/
You can see some of their (FULL-LENGTH!) shows and play games that cover a wide range of subjects, like nature, basic math, music, etc. There are also some printables and activities relating to science and math.
Also check out the “Resources” page (for parents and educators) – they have a BUNCH of stuff!

My sister and I are 2 homeschooling moms who share lesson plans, experiments, and projects for homeschoolers to use every day on Layers of Learning. We also have an always growing free printables page. Hope you check it out and perhaps share it with your readers. http://www.layers-of-learning.com
