Our 15yo son, who is in the Civil Air Patrol, was recently required to take two FEMA exams. While at the site, I found many other FEMA tests, so naturally thought it would be a great site to highlight here on FreelyEducate.com!

"The Emergency Management Institute (EMI) offers self-paced courses designed for people who have emergency management responsibilities and the general public."
There are too many courses on the site for me to list them all, so I'll instead direct you to the different areas of the FEMA course site:
- The Independent Study Program (ISP) has courses for FEMA management to household hazardous materials (for citizens). There are also some animal care courses. These courses earn an average of 1 college credit or .2-.4 CEUs
- The National Incident Management (NIMS) program offers courses in emergency procedures.
- "The Professional Development Series includes seven Emergency Management Institute independent study courses that provide a well-rounded set of fundamentals for those in the emergency management profession. Many students build on this foundation to develop their careers."
- The EMI Curriculum contains many courses on mitigation, preparedness, and more.
Where to Start: Visit this FAQ page for information on taking the courses and how to obtain college credit
How to Get This Freebie: Click on the links above or visit the main FEMA independent study site
