HippoCampus: Free Multimedia Courses for High School & College

high school· history

HippoCampus offers free multimedia courses in several subjects for high school and college students to use as a homework aid or study help.  I'm personally impressed with the quality of the materials at the HippoCampus site, which was created by the Monterey Institute for Technology and Education (MITE). They write, "The goal of HippoCampus is to provide high-quality, multimedia content
on general education subjects to high school and college students free
of charge
."

The available subjects are:

Algebra

Algebra (Spanish)
American Government
Biology
Calculus
Calculus (Spanish)
Environmental Science
Physics
Psychology
Religion
Statistics
US History

You may also create a custom HippoCampus page for your students to access by first filling out this form.

Thank you, Natalee, for sharing this high quality, 100% free educational find with FreelyEducate.com!

Two years ago, I used the Monterrey Institute coursework for AP U.S. history, for teaching my son and two of his friends. It was a very good resource ! I recommend this website for motivated high school students.

Its kool how people go out of their way to help others with their education. Most people see education as if they are on their own, and so they must see it through themselves. By having online study tutorials and programs to help with classes it helps the students including myself to fully understand the subjects being taught in the classroom, and also to gain relevant knowledge by doing the online tutorials. This is a great way for students to study and remember.

Freely Educate is written for those, like our family, who don't want the box. There are many places for "box-thinkers" to go. This place is for those who think outside the box. I hope to give you affirmation and advice on bravely choosing to educate creatively and individually. - Lori Seaborg
